Career Outcomes

Over 95% of our most recent graduates are working in a public health-related field. The BLS projects popular public health careers, including community health workers and health educators, will grow faster than average from 2023 to 2033.

Master of Public Health

Daemen’s 45-credit-hour MPH program covers five key public health areas: biostatistics, epidemiology, health services administration, health education/behavioral science, and environmental health. You’ll also gain real-world experience working directly with public health professionals by completing a 240-hour practicum. A final capstone project will provide you the opportunity to investigate an important public health problem in your area of interest. The program focuses on health equity and social justice. As a Daemen MPH graduate, you’ll be well prepared to serve your community in promoting public health and well-being, and preventing disease and injury.

After completing this program, you’ll be prepared to:

  • Implement solutions to population-based health problems through research and studying trends within the public health field
  • Combine assessment, monitoring, and prevention strategies to improve the well-being of individuals and communities
  • Advocate for public policies and programs that impact communities by improving access, quality, and delivery of healthcare
  • Examine health system challenges that prevent delivery of optimal healthcare
  • Work in a variety of settings, including health departments, community-based organizations, consulting firms, academic institutions, global health organizations, and more

MPH Application Requirements

When you’re ready to submit your application, here’s what you’ll need to provide:

  • Completed application
  • Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended indicating the award of an undergraduate degree
  • Two letters of recommendation: one from an academic source and one from a volunteer experience, internship, or employer
  • Resume
  • Personal statement (3–4 pages)
  • No GRE required
